DON'T LET THIS SLIP BY.
You've been meaning to do this, maybe even for years. Everyone's finally in the same place at the same time. And you want photographs that actually end up letting the people you love most know they are seen — not just in a folder on your phone that you mean to print someday.
That's exactly what I do.
"Krissy has a unique gift to work with people and children to create what becomes art in their homes."
Kind words from
Sloan Family, past clients
Krissy took the most beautiful photos of our family, more beautiful than I could ever have imagined or wished for. But above and beyond that, every time we look at our photos, we have such sweet memories of the entire photo shoot experience and it has become a very distinct memory that we joyfully talk about as a family. Krissy has a unique gift to work with people and children to create what becomes art in their homes.
“Working with Krissy was a joy!”
Kind words from
Kate, past client
From the moment we met, she immediately adapted to our family dynamic. Using her incredible intuition, she lovingly guided our exuberant toddlers (and us) and captured each of our personalities and a special time for our family in a collection of images we are so thankful to have. Throughout our engagement, Krissy was also very responsive, accommodating, and focused on making sure we received a finished product - keeping us from getting overwhelmed or dragging our feet with image selection - and that was incredibly helpful. Thank you, Krissy!

Before we ever step foot on the cobblestone Charleston streets or the sandy beach, we talk. I want to hear about your family, your vision, and what this season of life looks like for you. We'll nail down location, style, and every detail together — so you show up relaxed, not rushed.

I've been doing this for 18 years. I know how to move a family through golden hour on the beach and make it genuinely fun — including the two-year-old, the reluctant teenager, and the dog. Y'all just show up and enjoy each other. I'll handle the rest.

Every image goes through over 100 retouching steps — bringing out the light, softening the distractions, and making sure the final result is something you're proud to put on your wall or see over and over again in an heirloom album. Everything you order comes with the high-resolution digital of that photograph.

This isn't a gallery link you'll forget about. After your session, we sit down together and I walk you through your images — helping you choose what goes on your walls, what goes in an album, and/or what gets framed for the grandparents. My exclusive curated collection that you have access to includes matted art prints, handcrafted albums, and archival frames. Rather than a to-do list, you'll soon receive your heirloom treasures on your doorstep.
Most families tell me the session went faster than they expected. That it felt more like fun family time or an enjoyable evening at the beach rather than a forced photo shoot. That their kids actually had fun, and Dad too.
That's not an accident. Every session is planned around you — your family, your location, your style. I do the thinking ahead of time so that when we're together, you can just be present. I'm watching for the light, the connection, that moment you didn't even know was a moment but now will always be a favorite one.
Whether you're staying on Kiawah Island for the week, doing a quick trip to Charleston, or you're a local family who's been putting this off for years — the experience is the same: personal, planned, and so worth it.
“We have now worked with Krissy three times and each time was a beautiful experience. (And we laughed and had so much fun-- bonus!)"

Getting everyone together in Charleston or the Lowcountry for a few days is already a big deal. The photographs should match. I've photographed groups of 8 and groups of 38 — on Kiawah's beach, at Seabrook, on the marsh, in the family home, and in downtown Charleston. I know how to move a big group efficiently, keep the energy light, be a unifying denominator in family dynamics, and still capture the quiet moments between generations that you'll treasure most.
Every session includes your planning call, the session itself, and your Reveal & Ordering appointment. Master retouching will be done on all artwork and heirloom pieces selected at your reveal. What you choose is based on what works best for your family is purchased separately from your Reservation Fee.
Our most popular session and heirloom collections fall between $1,350–$2,750+, with every detail taken care of from start to finish — so you walk away with pieces that tell your family's story for generations.
incredible...
...She went above and beyond in every aspect from the initial call to book our session to receiving our final photos. She was so helpful in coordinating family outfits, suggesting props & locations and spent so much time with us at the shoot perfecting poses and giving play breaks to our 2 year old son. We had the best time working with Krissy & I am beyond thrilled with how the final photos turned out. These photos are hung in our home and will be cherished for many many years to come. I could go on and on about how amazing and positive this experience was!"

I work throughout Charleston and the Lowcountry — downtown Charleston, Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island, Folly Beach, Isle of Palms, Mount Pleasant, and beyond. If you're visiting from out of town, I'll help you choose the location that makes the most sense for your group, your rental location, and the time of year.
Not sure where to start? That's what the planning call is for.

I'm Krissy Millar, and I've been photographing families since 2008 — in Malibu, on Maui, and for the past 6+ years here in the Lowcountry I now call home. I'm a retired homeschool mom (graduated both my girls), a fire wife, and someone who genuinely believes that good photography is one of the best investments a family can make. Not because I'm biased (okay, maybe a little), but because I've watched the power of good photographs silently speak loudly that someone is loved. I've watched them hold truth and connection and to reveal beauty to help shape someone for the better.
I want that for your family too.
The families who love their experience most are the ones who plan ahead. And because I put so much into each session I only take a limited number of sessions each month. Click below and fill out an inquiry form and I'll be in touch to set up a time for us to connect-- which I'm so excited about!. A short call is all it takes to make sure we're the right fit and get your session on the calendar.
