you won't get it back
My process lets you focus on enjoying your family, while relaxing in front of the camera.
your family EXPERIENCE
And we can photograph on Kiawah and Seabrook Island's beaches, or downtown Charleston with all her charm, or we can meet under those majestic Oaks clad in Spanish moss... let's talk location, wardrobe, and, my favorite, let's talk about you and your family and your story! I'm there for you, and I get wanting the portraits that fill your heart up now and in the decades to come. I also get not always feeling confident or knowing what to do in front of the camera. But I'm going to help you with all of that too, even making it fun again. Not only that, but we'll document and preserve this time beautifully too, and as both your photographs and your family deserve to be seen.

01
I'll give you simple cues to create the moments that you'll love to remember, whether it's genuine smiles or can't-it-always-be-like-this snuggles.
02
Nobody wants to feel uncertain in front of the camera, or to be positioned poorly. Don't worry! I'll direct you when needed, step back when it's good, and make sure your pose and lighting is flattering on you.

These favorite photographs and memories are best beheld and held by your family. I will make what can be overwhelming-- simplified.
"Krissy has a unique gift to work with people and children to create what becomes art in their homes."
Kind words from
Sloan Family, past clients
Krissy took the most beautiful photos of our family, more beautiful than I could ever have imagined or wished for. But above and beyond that, every time we look at our photos, we have such sweet memories of the entire photo shoot experience and it has become a very distinct memory that we joyfully talk about as a family. Krissy has a unique gift to work with people and children to create what becomes art in their homes.
“Working with Krissy was a joy!”
Kind words from
Kate, past client
From the moment we met, she immediately adapted to our family dynamic. Using her incredible intuition, she lovingly guided our exuberant toddlers (and us) and captured each of our personalities and a special time for our family in a collection of images we are so thankful to have. Throughout our engagement, Krissy was also very responsive, accommodating, and focused on making sure we received a finished product - keeping us from getting overwhelmed or dragging our feet with image selection - and that was incredibly helpful. Thank you, Krissy!
I crave the good light. I pursue joy and connection and goodness. I cheer on and champion you. And I use the lens in my camera to frame what matters most and is beautiful. I've learned when to direct, and when to step back. I love showcasing great locations. And I'm here for you if you want something more traditional, or even a little more unique.
Quite simply, I want to hear about you and your story. Yes, you have one, and, yes, it matters! The more you share with me about you and your life, this time, the better your photographs will be at telling your story. It's just that simple.
I do the work beforehand. No matter the photography session, I plan and prioritize what is most important to you. I'm there guiding you so that you are prepared to be in front of the camera and that you feel relaxed. I'll give you plenty of direction to make it enjoyable and even fun for you. No, really-- fun is possible!
We will hop on a phone call to go over what you are needing, wanting, desired dates, and all the details. I will use that information to send you a quote for my services.
This is where we dive in to your specific family, discuss location and outfits, and go over the heirloom product options you have, so you can start thinking how you'll want to enjoy your photographs now and in the years to come.
After your very enjoyable photography session, I'll cull your photographs to a manageable (read: not overwhelming) collection to choose from. Then you'll get to preview the best-of proof photographs, choose your favorites, and each one that you choose will receive the award-winning Master Retouching.
I'm saving you time, and you're getting it done. Through a by-your-side, simplified process with the best products available, you're family will treasure their printed portraits, and they'll be seen as they should! Final photographs are also delivered to a downloadable, online gallery. Printed photographs are delivered to your doorstep!
Krissy is —
incredible...
...She went above and beyond in every aspect from the initial call to book our session to receiving our final photos. She was so helpful in coordinating family outfits, suggesting props & locations and spent so much time with us at the shoot perfecting poses and giving play breaks to our 2 year old son. We had the best time working with Krissy & I am beyond thrilled with how the final photos turned out. These photos are hung in our home and will be cherished for many many years to come. I could go on and on about how amazing and positive this experience was!"

Do whatever you can to truly be present.
Have a quieter day before you photography session. And at your session, well, trust me. I just need 1/250th of a second for a moment you'll be thankful now lasts forever. So soak in these minutes we have, roll with it. Trust me. Know I'm on your side! You'll love the final photographs!
Your family needs printed photographs.
Technology is always changing, so there's that uncertainty that you'll be able to access your photos if they're just on a device. But there's also letting your loved ones know they are truly seen. Your printed pieces become meaningful markers and meaning-full memories.
Don't put these off, you and your family need them.
I'm talking from experience here. I've been reluctant to be in the photos, and I've had a reluctant family too. I treasure the photos of my mom, but, in all honesty, I wish she had let me capture more.
Plus, fellow moms, we are always our own harshest critics. Rather than looking for that "when I _____" recognize you're reading this, because you know that time is now. And you and your family are meant to have beautiful portraits now, for this part of your story.
You are photogenic.
Stop the negative talk. It's my job to show you the camera really does love you. You don't need to know the poses or where to put your hands-- I'll help you with all that and more-- so that you look great, and, even more importantly, so that you feel great! Plus, my clients love the subtle editing magic that I'm able to do from time to time.
Real talk– pro hair and makeup is worth their weight in gold.
Let's not be our own worst critic for a change. Professional hair and makeup will have you camera-ready and confident. Forget the contour-craze, and your timeless photographs will be so much more than a split-second post.
"Incentive training"/bribing kids, is photo-parenting gold.
I'm not judging. I've been there too. There's a time and place for bribing your kids, and photo sessions are top of the list. Just keep the sugar treats for after the session. And we'll make sure to have plenty of sweetness and interaction together too. Who knows?!-- they may even forget about their "incentive."
here's a little about me, but, honestly, i'm way more excited to be learning all about you and your family!
I've lived in amazingly beautiful places-- and I started my photography business outside Los Angeles, CA, getting to use prime film/TV locations as my photoshoot locations with all the golden hour light. I also had 6 years on Maui, Hawaii, and while you almost can't take a bad picture, I learned how to love photographing on the beach while making my clients look great. Now I'm in the number one city in the USA, and being downtown sometimes feels more like being on a movie set. Plus the dune grasses and pastels at the beaches are incredible.
Beyond that, I'm a homeschool mom and fire wife. I grew up in an athletics-focused home, competed as a college gymnast (and was on the cheer/stunt team too), and it wasn't until my second child that I began to realize, I'm an artist too. I can't draw well, so a camera is my go-to tool. Ultimately, I'm wanting to do all this to preserve goodness, truth, and beauty to the world, making the most of this opportunity that Jesus planned for me before He created the foundations of this world. And I'm thrilled that includes getting to photograph you and your family!!
