It is so important for little girls to know their daddy’s love. I believe we are created with that need, and I won’t go into what I see when that void is left unfulfilled. And most times, daddy’s love are the everyday moments, but sometimes it is more– a celebration of that special relationship. I am so glad that Oaks Christian School (Westlake Village, CA) schedules a yearly event before Valentine’s Day that treasures the father/daugther relationship.
We have all been looking forward to this night, the Father/Daughter Dance at Oaks Christian School, for quite some time this year. It is the first year K. and daddy get to go. I painted her nails and put her hair up and she even got a little make up for the special night.I melted when K. started to go down the stairs and quietly said, “I can’t wait for daddy to see me.” Her daddy gave her her first corsage (from Agoura Flowers— who were so kind to make a smaller scaled one for her.):
And she loved it, and filled up with more love just taking a smell of it:
And as you can see she was quite enamored with it:
I’m so glad that her father is setting such a high standard for her, so that she will have a bar raised high when she is old enough to be courted…so in about thirty more years. 😉
And away they went…I’m hoping my amazing husband will enjoy making our daughter feel like the princess she is tonight. I know she will remember this night for… well, probably for-ever.
