This past spring, fellow homeschooling mom, D., told me that they she wanted me to do her son’s senior pictures. I was so excited because I really enjoy doing high school senior portraits. And then they had the exciting news that their fifth child was going to officially join their family in June. This was my first time meeting their youngest daughter, and my heart overflowed immediately. Little T. is from China and already such a glorious part of their family. She has been “home” for about three months now, and I was flowing with joy watching her interact with her siblings and mom and dad. In many ways it was remarkable the attachment that she already formed– a good tribute to the love poured out on her at home. Little T.’s oldest siblings were home from college most of the summer so they have had such wonderful bonding time. Well, of course we couldn’t just do N.’s high school senior portraits anymore, we had to do the entire family and capture little toddling T. Now, unfortunately this was during the heat wave we had last week, and thankfully you can look at these images without feeling the 100-degree sun on you.
I love how mom D., calls her two youngest daughters her “Asian beauties” because they are that. But really, the N. family just exemplified the beauty of adoption (twice over!) and that the borders of countries have nothing to do with the borders of the family heart. N. family may God continue to bless you and lead you! Thank you so much for letting me capture you at this precious time…
