Kiara Nowlin– most people know her as a World Tumbling Champion (WOW!), a model in cheer magazines (can see why!), a World Champion Cheerleader (seriously!), and the cheerleader who will dazzle the spectators at Oaks Christian High School football and basketball games. I used to know her as someone who was super sweet to my own daughters (always a bonus!) and who I respected for raising the bar of cheerleading not just at her own school but, truly, across the country and even internationally. Now, after spending time with her and having the privilege of creating her senior portrait experience, I know this beautiful young woman is so much more than just talented.
The vision for these portraits started when I was talking with her mom about what Kiara loved, beyond the obvious of flipping and twisting. She loved to travel, and that is good because oh my how she travels! From Russia to Sweden to Idaho, people come far and wide to cheer, stunt, and tumble with her or to see her win gold. But these portraits aren’t about the fans, the hype, even her astounding God-given talent, or how hard she works and the level of unfathomable dedication she has practiced; no, these are about her beauty inside-out. These are about the travels that her senior year in high school beckons, because she is a remarkable young woman stepping into that magical year in high school where the world is set before you.

Kiara, I loved the time we spent, getting to know your awesome mom and dad ( the lighting guru!), T-Lee and fam; having a bit of envy for your pop-up changing tent ;), and being invited into your lives through this process… I wish you the absolute best and pray that the Lord would continue to guide you, love you, and bless you. Enjoy beautiful!
Beautiful:)
