So I was both honored and excited to receive an email from Shutterfly asking if I would be willing to be featured on their curated page of photos and ideas for family photos. Just that my work is included on their website is so affirming for all the hard work I’ve put into photography, and to know it will help others create wonderful memories is so special and makes my heart full. But to not even have that on my radar or expectations and for it to happen, well that is like an early Christmas present. Especially because the “season” (which we call an “era” now) has been filled with countless setbacks, so this, this is all the sweeter and even more meaningful.
You can see the feature here (not sure how long it will be up) and you can get some more ideas for family portraits there too. Also, this particular image was one of my favorite images from their shoot on Maui.
And one more note is that I really do love this photo– I did when I first culled the images from this shoot. But this is a mom who didn’t have it easy embracing motherhood, and yet here she is, a beautiful picture of motherhood. So be strong today moms, moms-t0-be, dads even. Be strong in love, in the selflessness of loving your kiddos, and find the beauty and joy in the simplest moments that can inspire your heart, and even better, your child’s heart. #wevegotthis
