This is where they started it all, their wedding, just the two of them, and this was their first time back to Maui with their adorable boy. Like in life, things didn’t go entirely as planned. The exact spot of their vows had people camping (guess the no camping signs on this beach weren’t effective.) But there were other spots that were meaningful so we went there. And when the zipper broke on mom’s dress just before the shoot she just pulled together what she could and, like the best of moms, not only made it work but lived fully in all the moments that followed. Perhaps the joy and love and strength one wears really is best of all. And when their little one face planted in wet sand, well we went with that too. It was an adventure, like the good and glorious kind. The kind you don’t expect and are so thankful you’ve had because their was more laughter, more freedom to be yourself and enjoy just being together. Thank you Y. family for letting me capture your first time back to Maui! I had so much fun spending time with you.
