Traveling with kids isn’t always easy. Of course not. But it is oh so rewarding. The eyes of wonder, the finding your rhythm as a family, experiencing new moments together, memories created and shared, these are bonuses. And when coming to Maui and celebrating your anniversary and taking the kids on their first family vacation, well that is incredibly special. These precious twin girls were probably more inclined to be anywhere other than at this beach family photo session. Yes, this can happen. But we still had a wonderful time on Maui’s west side, and there was still laughter and joy— just like in life, all the ups and downs together still make for something beautiful. There is a photograph below, with dad holding both girls and one is just not having it, and his smile and the sun hitting him– it is perfect. This is life. This is them at that moment. The beaches of Lahaina, including Kaanapali and Kapalua are magical with both Molokai and Lanai off in the distance. At this wide open beach location in the Kapalua area, we were even able to steal a few moments between people taking a sunset stroll with their dogs on a boardwalk. And mom and dad did so great going with the flow, which was wonderful and appreciated. I wish them all the best as they continue their adventures together and many more joy-filled family vacations.
