A few years ago the Marriott in Wailea went through an extensive remodel, and emerged triumphantly into the Wailea Beach Resort. I have said, many times, that it is literally one of the best remodels I have seen— they made so much good use of the space, designed it to embody the aloha spirit, and all the additions just integrated perfectly. Not only that but it is sandwiched between two of the prettiest beaches in Wailea. Fast forward to two years later and Lauren reached out to me for a mini session for maternity photos while here on Maui. As we discussed location, she said that this spot was the most meaningful for her husband, so we decided on the beach here for her maternity portraits. As the session unfolded, I learned why it held so much importance. For one reason, her husband had spearheaded the remodel of the resort, and this beautiful beach had tremendous significance to him. So while I was able to hear their amazing story, I was also amazed how gorgeous Lauren was pregnant, carrying twins—and it was as if the sun and skies were ready to paint her in gold and themselves in all the pastel colors of the rainbow. Seriously she is just stunning! And mom and dad are going to rock this parenthood thing— truly, this beautiful Hawaiian sunset just matched how beautiful their hearts were about their family-to-be.
