As a Charleston family photographer, I believe family photography is about far more than smiling at the camera. Sure you need those photos too– they age really well– those relaxed smiles, eyes at camera. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all photography. If that was all there is, I’d never have become a photographer nor stayed with it for almost two decades now. Creatively approaching a session combined with the sincere appreciation for the heirloom that the printed photographs will become is something that fuels me.

Light is incredible. Especially in photography–literally the Greek roots mean “drawing with light.”
Light shapes mood, highlights connection, and brings warmth and depth to an image. One of my greatest strengths as a family photographer in Charleston is knowing how to work with light and make the most of it.

- Use natural light to flatter every skin tone
- Adapt quickly so families never feel rushed

I believe Truth matters. I believe beauty encourages our soul. I believe goodness deserves to be celebrated and preserved.
As Imago Dei (made in the image of God) people aren’t my subjects in a frame, you are image-bearers with stories worth honoring. My faith quietly shapes my work through patience, care, and intentionality. This also means I’m not looking for you to have it all together and be perfect. Instead, I’m asking you to trust me to see you, to be present with your family, and to see the beauty that is there. Ultimately, I want you to trust me to photograph you and your loved ones so that you can’t wait but to flip through your album or stare with adoration at your wall portrait.
