I am now going to attempt to catch up a bit on some blog posts from this past holiday season. I had so much fun working with mom, K. who I was ironically supposed to do a late maternity shoot with but she went into labor that morning, and sweet little S. was born. So we did this family portrait experience and had a great time, during and after. It is so refreshing as a photographer to have a client who just loves what you do and is flat out excited about their experience and images. I had my wagon chalked-full of props and accessories, extra outfits, etc. We wheeled all around and just had fun. This is the second time photographing her two boys, and it was great already having some relationship to build on there. Plus, being the youngest in my family, and the only girl with two older brothers I wanted to play on the older-bro-protection aspect. I know these boys will do the same. So I had mom K. bring some of their favorite dress up, and I had a few things, and we played. And when it was time to go, everybody agreed that they really had fun. Love that.
I later went to their home to give them a preview on their large (huge) screen TV of their images and then we did a to-scale wall gallery for their living room, that they got to see. They had a budget that I helped them work within and still get something fantastic. When I went to deliver their portraits, the frames were already hung and waiting. That night I received this rewarding email:
Thank you for dropping the pictures off. I can’t stop going in the room and admiring them. They are beautiful and it is what that room needed! Anyway, Merry Christmas and thank you again!!!!
~L. Family, it was such a pleasure to work with you. Thank you so much!
