Today it snowed. A lot– for us. At one point my 8yo both excitedly and dreamily said, “I’ve never seen anything like this before.” Some stuck for a few hours, and just up 200 hundred feet or less at Covenant College, it snowed and stuck a bit more. Enough that when my husband came home from work tonight, he made sure to have plenty of snow still on his car. And he made sure to engage his delighted daughters in a snowball fight. Sure, our neighbors may think “Oh those Californians, they don’t know that this isn’t snow…” but we were having too much fun to worry about how much snow constitutes a snowball fight. This was all we needed for family fun and good memories made.
Now, earlier, as it was coming down, I was entranced by the beauty of snow as it danced and raced it’s way to land on rooftops, steps, grass, tree limbs, leaves, or the forbidden street– where it just didn’t last too long. I just had to go out for a few moments in front of my home to capture a bit of the beauty that I kept seeing in God’s amazing creation.
