The MODERN QUEEN kids couture jewelry and accessory line is filled with imagination, luxury, and, of course, sparkle. Founded by my friend, Hilary Rosinkranz, and her business partner, Stacy Rosen, they came up with the idea by being moms, and observing their own children’s imaginative adventures. Every piece is handcrafted by them, and made with high quality textiles, and every added piece of childhood– like rocks, feathers, and unicorns– are all hand curated with artistic touches and plenty of sparkle.
My trip to Southern California couldn’t have been more ideal for timing. I arrived at LAX on a Thursday night and the launch party was Saturday morning. After the tickets were booked I was able to confirm with Hilary that I’d be there. I was so excited to shoot their party for them. I knew with Hilary’s background in the fashion industry, as a beautiful model herself, and her love for her own children’s imaginations to flourish, that this would be a gorgeous line of couture children’s jewelry and accessories. (Plus if you can birth your 4th baby and at the same time launch a new business, I’m pretty sure the current chaos of life is a very beautiful chaos. And having a savvy partner in business like Stacy anchors the perfect balance to it all.)
The Ron Robinson Flagship Store in Santa Monica couldn’t have been a better location for introducing MQK to the world. The store used to be an art gallery, and well, Ron Robinson, who is a legend himself, seems to make shopping an art. It was evident why his store would host the MODERN QUEEN kids launch party and also sell their products and promote their vision– and having the backing of Ron Robinson is an amazing start for any brand.
The MODERN QUEEN kids brand was evident in all that they did to host a party that inspired delight in girls young and, well, not so young. The party itself was a wonderland of pink, white with splashes of shiny gold glitter. Pink sparkly doughnuts? Check. Gorgeous towers of macarons waiting for hands big and small to enjoy? Check. Cupcakes from the original cupcakery and with the MODERN QUEEN kids logo? Check. Organic delicious cotton candy spun in front of wide eyes? Check. Cookies that looked like painted pieces of circular art? Check. Giant balloons weighted by sparkly gold and silver and textured pink ribbons as they floated and mingled with the hundreds of guests? Check. Metallic starred hair wreaths and balloon wands for all the modern queens as they entered the party? Check. Girls of all ages getting their hair done and faces painted with touches of glitter? Check. An all you can want temporary tattoo station with plenty of sparkle? Check.
And to keep it simple, all the vendors are listed at the end.
So here are the pictures to enjoy…
Setting the scene: The Ron Robison Flagship Store in Santa Monica on 5th Street.
The most amazing sweets and treats! With fluffy pink feathers, plenty of gold glitter, and beautifully decorated sweet treats… even Pinterest seemed to wane in comparison to the splendor of this spread.
The tissue paper tassels and golden stars hung over the pink lemonade and pink sugar-rimmed champagne glasses. I saw many little girls thoroughly enjoying not just the lemonade, but also the pink striped straws with glitter stars.
And the products from MODERN QUEEN kids. Oh my! The whimsy and creativity and workmanship that goes into every piece– it was nothing short of breathtaking.
Some of the MQK models getting prepped for the party…
The tattoos– providing more glimmers of imagination to the party guests.
The organic cotton candy (yes, organic!) in multiple flavors, including salted caramel and strawberry!
…Braeden did an amazing job pulling everything together
Another bonus? The necklaces have a really wonderful magnetic closure…
Support from friends and family and fans were in plenty of supply, including from Jason Wade (Lifehouse).
One of the first MODERN QUEEN kids customers’ was the lovely actress Bethany Joy Lenz (One Tree Hill– and much more!)
Portraits for the special occasion…
The amazing Ron Robinson, a candid portrait. He, the owner and the legend, was present and served as many people as possible, with a smile on his face– taking empty cups, and getting people drinks (including on his in-house iPad controlled drink dispenser), and chatting with guests. His customer service (emphasis on the service) was incredibly impressive. He is also posed here with MODERN QUEEN kids founders Hilary Rosinkranz and Stacy Rosen.
Above is Stacy and her husband. The support from family, friends, and the fashion industry is sure to continue for this wondrous line of couture children’s jewelry and accessories. I’m thrilled for them!
